The Farmers' Market at Chateau Thomas Winery

When Erin Edds, half of the dynamic sister food entrepreneur team at Country Mouse City Mouse heard that the folks at Chateau Thomas Winery in Plainfield, Indiana were creating a farmers' market, she immediately knew she wanted to be one of their vendors. What she didn't know was that she would play a central role in the creation and management of the first year market. 

Upon hearing that the market was having difficulty finding a Market Master for the season, the busy wife, mother, and business owner offered to take on the assignment. "I knew this market had great potential. I didn' t want it to not happen for lack of a Market Master so I decided to step up and take on the job."

The market offers over 30 vendors and special programs including wine tastings. Erin loves the fact that several vendors offer picnic fare and that there are tables on the winery grounds where shoppers can sit and enjoy a simple meal during their visit to the market. She said, "You can purchase a prepared food item from some of the vendors, like a fabulous grilled cheese made with the Swiss Connection's cheeses or one of our salads, buy a bottle of wine, sit at a picnic table, and enjoy your evening. After your meal, you can pick up your produce and other items and head home refreshed and relaxed."
 
The market is open Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
