Edibles:You're Invited to the Grand re-Opening on February 9th
Kevin Edwards and Anthony Lineberry, owners of Snips in the historic Irvington section of Indianapolis, focus on organic treatments for hair and skin care. Helping their clients look gorgeous is their business, but they know that having beautiful hair and skin takes more than applying topical treatments--both have to be nourished from the inside out, in part, by eating the right foods.
Just over a year ago, Kevin and Anthony started another business after listening to salon clients talk about their desire to eat more healthful foods. Their clients wanted to find locally grown items including produce and Indiana raised meats, but with their busy schedules, many of them couldn't visit farm markets or farmers' markets on a regular basis. The entrepreneurial duo decided to provide their clients with a convenient, one-stop shopping location to buy local foods and launched Edibles.
Although new to the food industry when they started the store, both men are quick learners, passionate about local food, and enthusiastically stocking the shelves, bins, and freezers with a fantastic selection of Indiana produced products including:
Swiss Connection cheeses, cured meats and ice cream
Apple Family Farms beef, lamb and veal
Artesian Farms beef
Sechler Pickles
ECI Honey
Hickory Works syrup
Skillington Farms chicken
Central Valley CSA products
New Rinkle flour
Local Folks sauces
Matt Mathias Eggs
There are also shelves full of freshly baked breads and pies, Fair Trade coffee, and Ghyslain chocolates (Over the top, hand painted chocolates created in Union City, Indiana. Remember, Valentine's Day is just a few days away!). New products are being added on a regular basis as Kevin and Anthony travel the state in search of more items for their customers to enjoy.
To accommodate the ever increasing inventory and the steadily growing base of customers, Kevin and Anthony have expanded the market and recently moved into a new 1500 square foot store. They will celebrate their move with a grand re-opening on Saturday, February 9th. Everyone is invited to come shop and sample Indiana buffalo meat products, Traders Point cheese and yogurt, and hormone free pork meatballs. The event is free to the public and will run from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm.
Shopping at Edibles is like visiting several farm markets in quick one stop. What a convenient and easy way to fill your pantry and fridge with delicious, Indiana local food!
